ABOUT FACULTY OF EARTH SCIENCE

Faculty of Earth Sciences (FSB) began operating at the Jeli Campus in April 2012. Before being established as a faculty, the Department of Earth Sciences was first established on June 8, 2009, as one of the departments in the Faculty of Agro-Industry and Natural Resources (FASA). The experience of managing several programs in almost 3 years makes this department ready enough to form a new faculty at UMK. At its inception, FSB offered three Bachelor of Applied Science programs, namely Natural Resource Science, Environmental Sustainability Science and Geoscience.

In addition to strengthening existing programs, FSB designed several new programs and has successfully offered new programs namely Materials Technology in 2013 and Forest Resource Technology in 2014. To date (January 2016), there are five undergraduate programs at FSB. In addition, master of science and doctor of philosophy programs are also offered at FSB. All of these academic programs are supervised by three departments, namely the Department of Natural Resources Technology, the Department of Geosciences and the Department of Natural Resources and Sustainability.

FSB which was fully operational in 2017 in a new building near P. Although still new, the existing equipment is still sufficient to cover teaching and learning sessions such as lecture rooms, laboratories, basic equipment, and research equipment.

FSB is committed to supporting the wishes of the university, and this is clearly seen in FSB's vision which is "Pioneer in advancing knowledge and technology of natural resources sustainably through entrepreneurship". The offer of academic programs at the undergraduate level is also in line with this vision, with the development of the curriculum geared towards natural resources in addition to being embroidered with an entrepreneurial agenda.
